alas, i return from the san diego tourney.  if ever there was a group of anti-nerd terrorists, the point loma campus would have been a keen spot to bomb the living hell out of.  but since the terrorists missed their opportunity, courtney and i were able to go 5-1 in prelims and eventually make it to quarterfinals.  which was awesome.  [insert a million hallelujiah's.]  but my humility is easily maintained, particularly due to our 0-7 loss to cody and rachel in the quarters round.  i mean..dang.  you'd think oooone judge would pick us up on the sympathy ballot, but no.  heh.  i'm far from complaining though.  cody and rachel earned every ballot. aaaaand a trip to hawaii in my opinion.  (in fact, while they're there, maybe they can take along a few ooooother difficult teams and stay there til azusa is over. )

a few notables:

a team argued a bunch of topicality/prima facie against us.  right as courtney started to give the 1AR, the judge told her she didn't need to hear any more T or PF anymore..   (i guess she hadn't been to judge's orientation since the second ice age.)

like any tournament, lots of great teams didn't do well and there were some inexplicable breaks.  (not saying i wasn't one of those.. )

we discontinued a totally non-PC analogy about the catholic church in our aff..

anyway.  i'm thinking about IE's.  perhaps doing The Little Prince as an OI.  i feel all overwhelmed at the idea of having to cut that piece though.  but oh well.  it would be just for fun anyway.  it's not depressing or hilarious, so it wouldn't do well.  not to mention an incredible lack of british people falling in love (the unspoken rule of many successful IEs.)

but yeah..  speechy updates.  this is nerdy.  im leaving.

mmm.. lately when i wake my computer up the image is skewed for a sec but it flashed a window that says "auto adjust in progress" and then it fixes itself.  i want the skewed things of my life to auto-adjust when i wake up.

ooOOoooh..

haha. but seriously.

::edit::  i've been a little depressed but now i'm teaching myself harmonica and it's much fun!! i just started today and i can play 'darling clemantine,' a composition, and that one army song for when people die and stuff.  i've always had a tiny dream to play that on harmonica and now i can.  now i juuuust need a soldior to die so i can play it.. hmmm.. well, lots of vets come into IHOP.  i'll just keep my harmonica in my apron.  XD
